Charming/Dominating/Confusing more or less = a chance to cast summon spell in terms of effect, except it has the benefit of taking enemies away from combat. They create a buffer between you and your enemies, taking the heat away from you and allowing you to damage the other dudes. Charm/Dominate/Confusion spells are insanely good.
